Flinders University is ranked amongst the nation’s top 10 Australian Universities, with campuses in multiple locations in South Australia, Victoria, Northern Territory and a global presence online. With over 25,000 students and 2,500 staff, the University fully manages and provides IT Services in house through their Information and Digital Services (IDS) team.
Flinders University’s vision is to become internationally recognised as a world leader in research, an innovator in contemporary education, and the source of Australia’s most enterprising graduates. To accomplish this vision, the university needed to make strategic changes and undertake significant changes to its IT infrastructure, consolidate all channels of communications and adopt video conferencing technologies. Undertaking this challenge Flinders University found itself short on resources to fulfill multiple and complex projects concurrently as well as maintain day to day service delivery, these factors prompted the university to seek external assistance for their Cisco Unified Contact Centre Express (UCCX) contact centre scripting, configuration and management. Flinders IDS team required a partner that could provide both professional services and staff augmentation, working alongside its team to deliver the required project outcomes.
Hastwell pride itself on providing the right people, the right solution, done right the first time.
Hastwell consulted with Flinders’ IDS team and designed a staff augmentation solution allowing the university to utilise project resources, including architects and engineers for specific short term projects allowing the university to quickly and efficiently scale up. Resources were available for remote work as well as onsite support, including incident escalations after hours. Hastwell was able to provide the experienced resources needed, allowing IDS projects to commence without delay. Hastwell staff were seamlessly inducted with the IDS team and were immediately working in unison to ensure Flinders’ initiatives remained on schedule. This arrangement provided peace of mind and the knowledge that services were being managed to expectation.
The solution provided to Flinders University needed to meet their objectives, whilst still allowing their internal IT department to maintain their normal day to day activities. This engagement provided peace of mind and the knowledge that services were being managed to expectation throughout the duration of the project.
By partnering with Hastwell, the university was able to receive the support needed to allow network operations to flow smoothly and efficiently and scale up quickly.
Highly skilled engineers’ were allocated to critical positions and this allowed the university to concentrate on implementing the vision, and benefit from knowledgeable, highly-technical IT staff that were able to step in and begin resolving issues immediately.
