System Engineer – Network and Security

About the Role

This a full-time, permanent role based initially at our Head Office in North Plympton and will include a variety of remote work as well as onsite work at client sites and options for Work From Home. As a Network and Security Engineer, you’ll work among a team of specialist engineers to design, implement, and maintain network & cyber security solutions to a wide range of clients through a range of services under Professional Services, Managed Services and Staff Augmentation. You’ll work side by side with our Service Delivery Manager, Project Manager and Solution Architects to deliver impeccable technical solutions to our clients.

Duties

  • Drive growth and innovation through technical excellence and team collaboration
  • Support the company’s Values, Code of Conduct & Ethics, policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Identify organisational needs and make suggestions and recommendations regarding technical directions
  • Design, configure and implement infrastructure systems
  • Contribute to ITIL-based Managed Services functions including Incident Management, Request Management and Change Management in alignment with customer expectations and SLAs
  • Investigate information systems that might benefit Hastwell and our clients
  • Keeping track of time and accurately record on each customer project to assist in the betterment of estimations, quotations and formulating more precise billings
  • Ensure all documentation is stored securely with Hastwell Document Management Systems
  • Participate in 24×7 On-Call roster
  • Support Sales efforts with in depth product and business expertise
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of our products and service offerings and methodologies
  • Participate and lead, when needed, project meetings with the customer
  • Participate in internal projects making sure that activities and tasks are actioned as required

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have at least 5 years of experience in similar roles, involving:

  • Design & implementation of networking and/or security solutions.
  • Networking and security support, troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Implementation of ACSC Essential Eight
  • Experience key technologies from the following vendors:
  • Cisco/Meraki
  • HP/Aruba
  • Palo Alto Networks
  • Check Point
  • F5 Networks
  • CommScope

You will be able to demonstrate a solid networking background with associated industry certifications from the above vendors as an advantage.

Previous experience working within a multi-client environment providing quality customer service to a range of industries will be highly regarded.
